A conversational AI avatar built into a whistleblowing intake lets reporters explain the situation by talking.

Challenge
Amendments to the Whistleblower Protection Act require businesses above a certain size to establish internal reporting systems, and the accessibility of reporting channels has gained importance.
Most reporting channels are forms to fill in, and some people do not know what to write or how, and hold back. A channel was needed that lowers the barrier to reporting while reliably gathering the necessary information.
Adoption
Building avatar generation, video streaming and speech synthesis in-house would have been a heavy burden, so the company chose avacast, an AI avatar API. It valued being able to create avatars from photos and build them in with the API and SDK.
Several avatars were created and built into the report intake screen. The reporter’s face and voice are not passed on; they talk to the avatar.
Results and current use
Reporters can now explain the situation step by step while talking to the avatar, making the channel more approachable for people reluctant to fill in a form.
The company switches between several avatars to suit the tone and purpose of each channel.
Conversation sessions are used on an ongoing basis, and the company plans to keep improving the intake flow.
