The company is moving start-of-shift and end-of-shift reports, once received by phone and message, to guards’ phones.

Challenge
Guards reported the start and end of each shift by phone or message, and office staff recorded each report by hand. In the morning and evening, when reports came in all at once, staff were tied up on the phone and other work was delayed.
With handwritten records, it took time to see at a glance who was on duty. Missed reports were sometimes noticed late, making it hard to grasp the situation on site accurately.
Adoption
The company adopted Security Sign to reduce the burden of receiving reports and to keep accurate records. It placed weight on guards being able to report directly from the mobile app.
It began by giving guards the app and having them send shift reports through it, running phone reports in parallel while switching over step by step.
Results and current use
Shift reports arrive with the time and location, and the office can check the status in a list. Taking calls and writing reports down is no longer necessary, easing the morning and evening workload.
Because the list shows who has reported, guards who have not reported are noticed sooner.
The company plans to extend its use to assignment planning and electronic job slips.
