Shannon is looking for people to grow our business with. We build with generative AI as a baseline, while the final design and proposals still come down to human judgment. We hire mainly for full-time roles, and also welcome contractor arrangements. See the Openings page for current positions.

A message from our founder

Shannon is built around three things: developing and running our own products, building and operating infrastructure, and working as an engineering agency. Drawing on experience across industries and company sizes, we are building a team that can stay involved in our clients' businesses over the long term.

What matters most to us is a simple stance: building systems that last, with integrity. A product is not finished when you ship it; it grows with the business through maintenance and operation after release. That is why, from the design stage, we want to build with questions like is it easy to operate, easy to hand over, and still maintainable five years from now? taken for granted. Working with that perspective from the design stage onward is our basic way of doing things.

Some projects come to us with requirements that are hard to pin down. We widen what generative AI can handle, while the final call is always checked by senior eyes. We aim for both speed and quality.

We value four things: transparency, integrity, logic, and a long-term view. We hold to the same attitude toward our clients and our own members alike. We would like to work, over the long term, with people who share the idea of building systems that last, with integrity. A casual interview is a perfectly good place to start.

Process

Hiring process

We move through two to four conversations in total. A casual interview is a fine place to start. For contractor arrangements, a single conversation is sometimes enough.

  • 01Apply — apply through the contact form. We also welcome starting with a casual interview.
  • 02Casual interview (optional, 60 min) — we talk openly about each side's situation and interests. Before or after applying is fine.
  • 03First interview (30 min) — aligning on background and direction. Some roles include a short exercise.
  • 04Final interview (30 min) — confirming terms and start date, and reaching mutual agreement.
  • 05Offer / joining — we issue an offer letter and you join by mutual agreement.

Since we are fully remote as a rule, where you live within Japan does not matter. However, given constraints and risks under Japanese labor systems such as workers' accident insurance, applications are limited to residents of Japan.
All interviews can be held online (Zoom / Google Meet). For the final interview only, we can also meet in person if you prefer.
Of course. We welcome exchanging information even at the "I might consider a move someday" stage. Just note "casual interview" in the contact form.
