Challenge
When a visitor checks in, the visitor-reception system notifies the person being visited on Google Chat or Microsoft Teams.
If the notice does not arrive, the visitor is left waiting. Losing notices to brief chat-service outages was something the reception system had to avoid.
Adoption
The company adopted Webhook Admin, with its retries, delivery logs and protection against duplicate notices, to improve the stability and quality of notifications.
Visitor and call-for-staff notices are sent to Webhook Admin as events, per client company, with each company’s Google Chat or Teams registered as destinations.
Results and current use
Notices that briefly fail are retried, and a delivery record is kept.
When no destination is registered, the notice is treated as undelivered and the reception AI guides the visitor to call someone. The AI never says a person has been notified when they have not.
More reliable notifications support a reception that does not keep visitors waiting.
