SHANNON LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY (“SHANNON”) launched DocRelay, a document generation engine built on blockchain technology, on October 29, 2026.
What DocRelay is
DocRelay handles documents from generation to delivery through one API. Send your data to the API, and DocRelay merges it into a layout designed in the dashboard’s template editor, or into your own Excel or Word template, and issues the document. Receive it in the response, with a webhook on completion, or through an expiring URL.
Key features
- Template editor. Place text, lines, rectangles, images, line-item tables and body text, and set merge fields. Line-item tables continue across pages as rows grow, and body text flows onto the following pages. You can also start from 39 ready-made templates such as invoices, quotes and payslips.
- Excel and Word templates. Upload Excel or Word files that contain merge fields and use them as templates.
- Output formats. Layouts output PDF, Excel templates output Excel or CSV, and Word templates output Word. CSV encoding (UTF-8 or Shift_JIS), BOM and line endings are configurable.
- Batch issuance. Issue 1 to 1,000 documents in one call and receive them as a zip; layout templates can be merged into a single PDF.
- Delivery. If the document is ready within the wait time, it is returned in the response; otherwise a webhook is sent on completion. Documents can also be shared through URLs with an expiry and a download limit.
- Retention and automatic deletion. Set a retention period per issuance (24 hours by default); documents are deleted automatically when it ends.
- Tamper detection. Each issued document’s hash is chained to the previous entry, and a daily hash is published (tamper detection that applies blockchain technology). The data you merge is never recorded.
- Live and test environments. Every project has a live and a test environment, so you can try issuing documents in test before going live.
- Operable by AI. Through MCP, AI clients such as Claude can create templates, edit and publish layouts, issue documents and review issuance history.
