SHANNON LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY (“we”) has fully redesigned Security Sign, the operations cloud for security companies that we co-develop and run with a partner company, and added two new services: Training and Statutory documents.
Background
Control rooms at security companies handle more than assignments, slips and attendance. They also keep training records for guards and the documents that the Security Business Act requires each office to keep. These are often made separately on paper or in spreadsheets, and pulling them together before an inspection takes a lot of work.
Security Sign grew around assignments and slips, and as menus were added it became harder to tell where to do what. We rebuilt the screens around the flow of the work and brought training and statutory documents into the same product.
Three services
Switch between Operations, Training and Statutory documents at the top of the screen. Each menu runs in the order plan, record, submit.
- Operations: assignments, sites, check-in and check-out, timesheets and slips
- Training: training plans, training records, progress and training items
- Statutory documents: guidance plans and records, complaint logs, guard registers, contract documents, applications and filings, and inspection preparation
Training
Create training plans and records, and check whether each guard has completed the required training hours. Each subject line in a training record holds its category (basic or duty-specific) and the name of the instructor, and records export in the format your company already uses. Frequently used subjects can be saved as training items and picked each time.
Statutory documents
A single list shows the status of the documents each office must keep under the Enforcement Regulations of the Security Business Act (guard registers, disqualification checks, protective equipment, guidance plans and records, training plans and records, contract documents and complaint logs), so you can work through what is missing first. Documents can also be exported together for inspections.
Other changes
- Assignments: select a range on the assignment board and assign guards to it in one step. AI assignment remains available.
- Slips: a calendar by site and day shows which slips have been received and sent and which days are missing. Unopened slips are marked NEW.
- Sites: import sites from CSV. Existing sites with the same name are updated.
- Sign-in: passkey sign-in and password reset.
- Guards’ phones: redesigned home, shifts, slips and notices, showing today’s site and who else is working there.
