SHANNON LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY (“SHANNON”) and MFP Co., Ltd. launched AI Recept (AIレセプト), a visitor reception system for offices, on October 19, 2026. SHANNON develops AI Recept, and MFP Co., Ltd. provides it.
Background
Since October 2026, SHANNON and MFP have been running a proof of concept for unstaffed reception with a conversational AI avatar: visitors talk to an avatar on a tablet, and AI finds and notifies the person they are visiting.
AI Recept turns this into a cloud service that any company can sign up for and start using right away. Tablet check-in, where visitors choose on screen, is free, and AI avatar reception is a monthly add-on.
What AI Recept is
AI Recept handles office visitor reception on a single tablet. Visitors pick their purpose and the person they are visiting on screen and enter their name and company, and that person is notified in Google Chat. The reception screen opens in the tablet browser, so there is no app to install.
Main features
- Tablet check-in. Visitors choose their purpose (appointment, delivery, interview and so on) and the person they are visiting, then enter their name and company. For each purpose you choose whether to look up a person and what the screen says afterwards.
- Google Chat notifications. After check-in, a notice naming the host is sent to your Google Chat space. If the host cannot be identified, the main contact, such as general affairs, is notified.
- Staff directory and visit purposes. Each company sets up the people visitors can choose and the kinds of purposes.
- Pre-registered visits and QR check-in. Register a visitor’s name, company, date and host to issue a link and QR code for the visitor. On the day, the visitor holds the QR code up to the tablet to check in.
- Visit records and metrics. Each check-in is recorded with the date, location, result, host, and the visitor’s name and company. The admin screen shows check-in counts and more, and records can be exported as CSV.
- Members and roles. Owner and staff roles. Sign in with an email link or a passkey.
- Works with AI assistants. AI Recept supports MCP, so AI assistants such as Claude can work with the staff directory, visit appointments and visit records with the same permissions as the admin screen.
AI avatar reception (add-on)
The visitor talks to the avatar on the tablet. The AI asks their purpose and who they are visiting, finds and confirms the person in the staff directory, and notifies them. Even if the visitor only half-remembers the name, the AI suggests candidates and confirms.
The avatar runs on SHANNON’s real-time avatar API avacast, the voice conversation on our voice AI agent platform voicast, and passkey sign-in on our passkey authentication platform SealGate.
AI avatar reception uses the microphone and audio playback, so behavior can vary with the device and browser settings. Please try it on your own device before rollout.
