We read the experience first,
then hand you the engineer.

SHANNON's engineer portal is the point of contact for companies looking for engineers. Available talent is kept visible at all times, with the same content as a skill sheet. Before we propose anyone, we always match your requirements against their experience.

Pain points

Sourcing engineers — sound familiar?

You want to add people, but the searching itself is the cost. This is the channel for that.

Hiring can't keep up, but the development already in motion can't stop.
You reached out to several agencies and the same person's resume arrived from different firms.
The resume looked good, but in the interview it didn’t match the requirements.
Only the rate was decided up front; what the person can actually do never came through.
You want to add just one person, but only team-sized proposals come back.
You want someone who can work fully remote, but candidates get narrowed down by region.
Portal

What the engineer portal does

Available talent is kept visible at all times, with the same content as a skill sheet. No waiting for email — log in and it's there.

01 Talents

Talent pages

Available engineers, with the same content as a skill sheet.

  • Years of experience, skills, work history, availability
  • Turn a skill sheet into a PDF on the spot
  • Phases they can cover, certifications held
  • Rate, interview count, and remote policy stated
  • Reach out by email straight from someone you like

02 Matching

The match before we propose

We read the requirements we receive and check for a fit before sending anyone.

  • We take requirements in technical terms
  • When there's no fit, we say "not right now"
  • We don't send volume for you to narrow down in interviews
  • We don't filter candidates by location

You spend interview time only on people who fit the requirements

03 Access

Login and visibility

Set up so you don't have to manage accounts.

  • Login is a code sent to your email only (no password)
  • Engineers we hold from your firm aren't shown to that firm
  • Not indexed by search engines
  • What is shown is decided at registration

No effort issuing or managing accounts

Reasons

Before we propose, we match requirements and experience

We read the requirements we receive and check for a fit before sending anyone.

  • 01We take requirements in technical terms. Because we build and operate our own products — "Security Sign" and "Kitei Log" — we picture what "this role on a system this size" actually means before choosing candidates.
  • 02When there is no fit, we say "not right now." Sending volume for you to narrow down in interviews spends your interview time.
  • 03We put the conditions in writing up front. Rate, availability, remote policy, and interview count go out with the skill sheet.
  • 04We don't filter candidates by location. Our partners are nationwide, and some registered engineers work on a fully remote basis.
Scope

Areas we can introduce

Areas where our registered engineers have the most track record. Not seeing yours? Ask us anyway.

01 Backend

Backend development

Server side of business systems and web services. Mostly people who can go from design through implementation and testing.

  • Java / Spring, Spring Boot
  • PHP / Laravel, CakePHP
  • Go / Node.js / Python
  • API design, DB schema design
  • Rework and replacement of existing systems

Good fit: adding capacity for features / taking over maintenance / replacement projects

02 Frontend

Frontend development

Screen-side implementation centered on React / TypeScript. Many can build in line with the design intent.

  • React / Next.js / TypeScript
  • Vue.js / Nuxt.js
  • Admin and business screens
  • UI improvement, accessibility
  • CMS and e-commerce builds

Good fit: screen-heavy development / design refresh / adding a frontend specialist

03 Mobile

Mobile app development

iOS / Android native, and cross-platform. From reworking existing apps to new builds.

  • Swift / Kotlin
  • React Native / Flutter
  • Adding features like payments and IoT device integration
  • Store submission and release operations

Good fit: adding app features / rebuilding a maintenance setup / new app development

04 Infrastructure

Infrastructure & SRE

Designing and building cloud architecture, and setting up CI/CD and monitoring. Some can double up with development.

  • Production architecture on AWS / GCP
  • Terraform / IaC
  • Docker / Kubernetes
  • CI/CD, deploy automation
  • Monitoring, logging, alert design

Good fit: cloud migration / standing up an SRE setup / reducing operational load

05 Lead

Team lead / tech lead

People who can lead a team while staying hands-on. They can step into young teams that need turning around.

  • Requirement shaping, client negotiation
  • Design and code review
  • Mentoring and progress management
  • Test planning, quality management

Good fit: teams without a senior / startup phase / a team that needs quality raised

06 Team

Joining as a team

We mostly introduce from one person, but can also take on several at once, or as a SHANNON team.

  • Several people joining
  • Development by a SHANNON team (quasi-mandate / deliverables)
  • From design through into operations
  • A mixed setup with your in-house team

Good fit: handing over the whole build / no one in-house to judge it / handing it over from the start

Process

From enquiry to placement

About a week at the fastest. Let us know if you are in a hurry.

  • 01Enquiry — send us the outline of the role (responsibilities, tech, location and remote policy, rate, start date, interview count). Any format is fine.
  • 02Proposal — we send skill sheets of engineers who fit, along with rate and availability. If there is no match, we tell you "not right now."
  • 03Interview — one or two online. We can sit in for the technical check.
  • 04Contract — monthly, quasi-mandate by default. Settlement range and payment terms are agreed in writing before signing.
  • 05After joining — we check in on how things are going and are happy to discuss scaling the team up or down.
Comparison

Compared with other channels

We can't match the big agencies on registration numbers. Instead, we read before we hand over, and we state conditions up front.

Large agencies
  • Many registrations, but how requirements are read depends on the rep
  • Tends toward sending volume to narrow down in interviews
  • Reasons for a pass often never come back
Direct hiring only
  • Hiring moves, but time-to-productive is long
  • You build the fitting candidate pool yourself
  • Not suited to short-term capacity
SHANNON
  • We read requirements and experience before handing over
  • Conditions in writing up front (rate, remote, interview count)
  • See available engineers in the portal anytime

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the role, but where we have available engineers we send skill sheets within a few days. If there is no match, we tell you promptly. We never leave it hanging on "still looking."
Yes. Our registered engineers are spread nationwide, and some work fully remote. Conversely, for roles that need on-site presence, we state that up front and search accordingly.
Yes. We can hand you the pages of available engineers alone. Register via the application form.
Yes. Beyond introducing one person, we also take work on as a SHANNON team — design, implementation, and into operations. You can talk to us before the requirements are fixed.
