SHANNON (“the Company”) announces that it has strengthened the “industry-specific mandatory law check” built into the AI legal review of its policy-management cloud, “Kitei Log,” expanding its coverage of the laws each industry must comply with. Based on the industry selected at registration, the relevant laws are set as review targets automatically, and administrators are notified when an amendment is detected — helping prevent missed amendments to industry-specific laws more thoroughly than before.
Background
Labor-related laws such as the Labor Standards Act and the Child Care and Family Care Leave Act apply across all industries, but in practice each industry has its own specific laws to comply with — for example, the Private Schools Act for educational institutions, the Long-Term Care Insurance Act and the Child Welfare Act for healthcare and welfare, and the Motor Truck Transportation Business Act for transport. Amendments to these are overseen by different authorities, making it an area where responsible staff struggle to keep up and compliance gaps easily occur. Kitei Log’s industry-specific mandatory law check has always covered industry-specific laws in addition to those common to all industries; this release further strengthens its coverage and accuracy.
What’s been strengthened
- Automatic setup by industry: based on the industry selected at registration, the necessary laws are added to the review targets automatically — there is no need for staff to identify and register the applicable laws by hand.
- Amendment detection and notification via e-Gov: target laws are retrieved automatically from e-Gov, and when an amendment is detected, administrators of companies whose policies relate to it are notified automatically.
- One-click AI review: administrators can run an AI review in a single click and receive the differences against the amendment and the points in their own policies that need revision.
Industry-specific laws now covered
The industries whose specific laws have been expanded in this release include: the Private Schools Act, the School Education Act, the School Health and Safety Act, and the Basic Act on Education (educational institutions); the Long-Term Care Insurance Act, the Child Welfare Act, and the Medical Care Act (healthcare and welfare); the Motor Truck Transportation Business Act (transport); the High Pressure Gas Safety Act and the Gas Business Act (gas); the Construction Business Act (construction); and the Food Sanitation Act (food). Coverage will continue to expand.
